DESCRIPTION New McLaren artiF1ed F1 car part keyrings. These keyrings have been made from a rear quarter panel of the 2017 McLaren MCL32 F1 car which was raced by non other than Fernando Alonso and his then team mate Stoffel Vandoorne. These keyrings have rounded corners and I have created a custom made metallic papya vinyl effect design, which incorporates the famous McLaren speedmark and McLaren's signature "M". I have then finished them with a papaya eyelet fitting where the silver toned keychain is attached. These are super cool and super rare as McLaren parts are so difficult to get hold of and the run of these parts will be strictly limited. Not only is it pretty cool to own a McLaren part, a used one too, it's extremely exclusive to own an artiF1ed one. The way they've been cut has enabled the very cool honeycomb structure of these panels for F1 cars are made and on the reverse is the silver heat shielding coating. Through the McLaren satin black, with pearl sparkle paint work you can see in some of these pieces just how thin of a coat of paint an F1 car has as the honeycomb structure is visible and in the right light, the sparkle is visible too. The keyrings are mainly square in shape, but due to the limitation of the parts size, some will be different in shape, however the majority are as pictured above. Your keyring will be picked randomly. I have coated these with a clear, matt lacquer which slightly lightened them, although it's still the same colour. The lacquer didn't totally coat the decals, the pearl effect is still visible however. As such the decals can be removed if caught, picked at and treated roughly. I have used one for a while and it has been fine, but I would treat this more as a memorabilia piece. The keyrings will come with a signed and numbered, double sided COA artiF1ed art card and boxed within a lovely black giftbox which features the original logo from the team when originally founded by Bruce McLaren, the box also has a genuine vintage new/old stock Marboro Mclaren metal pin badge pinned to box's inner pad and can be removed for wearing. WHY I DO THISHaving witnessed the waste produced by Formula One over the past 20 years I decided that I could make a difference and at the same time give fans of the sport a unique opportunity to own the ultimate in F1 memorabilia. There are stories about fields in southern England having shipping containers packed full of F1® cars and parts being buried, certainly this was true of teams up the early 2000's. More recently many teams archive parts, but these archives have to be emptied, many items are destroyed (see the secretly filmed video of what one of the largest teams in F1® do when clearing out their archives) and due to their inability to be recycled, are put into landfill, something which will only have a huge detrimental effect to our environment in the future. Below I have embedded video of what McLaren do with their parts they no longer have a use for, pretty saddening and shocking that so much material like this ends up in landfill. ABOUT MEI had always wanted to do something about the waste our sport creates, when about 15 years ago the idea of selling obsolete, damaged, scrapped car parts came to mind.
